inspiring video

Hi,
saw these videos on YouTube and it really inspired me to try to someday achieve this with my horse! It also was really useful, because I've read about how to do this stuff (for example, in Beudant, who is my 'idol'), but never *seen* it done.
Here is one link, just view all links posted by this person; there is cantering backwards, canter on three legs, rhythmic insertion of jambette into a gait, and the nicest spanish walk I've seen yet. It's all of the same Portuguese rider, I think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW0gLYhUR-0

Forum: Discussing Equitation

New saddlery facility. Apologies for delays

To those of you that do not already know, we are in the middle of changing our manufacturing system. With the old system we were approaching maximum and I decided to do something about it. It has taken us a few months but from the end of this month(Aug. 2009) we should be able to make more saddles , better and faster. There will be a new endurance saddle, a new multi purpose and an all new event saddle .
Apologies to all who have experienced a delay during the changeover. Thanks for your patience!

David

Forum: About Saddles

So many books and opinions . En Francais aussi

Letter to Veronique in France. She asks "Which are the best books to read?" (English translation below)

Bonjour Vronique,

> Bonjour Veronique,

> In England we say "many roads lead to Rome!". It is the same with

> dressage.

> Nobody is completely right or completely wrong. So , we look for influence

> from those that make the horse more beautiful and ignore those who

> obviously

> take that beauty away.Look for books by riders from the royal schools and

> those that have studied there. The Cadre Noir, The Spanish Riding school

> of

> Vienna, The Portuguese school of Equestrian Art and the Royal Andalusian

> School. Michel and Catherine Henriquet and Philippe Karl also and books

> by

> Nuno Oliveira( the most important for me). Racinet who died recently has some good things to say and

> speaks in French. Never listen to those that go against the nature of the

> horse for our most effective teachers are our horses and the extraordinary

> love that we feel for them must always be our main motivation. Yes, we all

> have our differences, methods and theories, (and you know how the French

> like to argue but that love for our horses and the "Art" that we share,

> binds us together in an unbreakable and precious embrace. The proof of

> success is not whether we are better riders from the knowledge we have

> but,

> whether we are better people!

> Bonne chance

> David

> PS Make sure your riders read this and understand.

>

>

Forum: Discussing Equitation

sitting trot

I found this. Look at the Spanish horse video "rider in sitting trot!"

http://www.answers.com/topic/trot-wordnet

the trot is correct when the forearm of the horse is parallel to the diagonal hind cannon bone. Look at some of the other picture examples!
Forum: Discussing Equitation
